This page is ready. Everything below was written from the rules the software actually enforces, and from the tests that hold those rules in place.
What it is for
- Lists the category's offerings with last year's rate already filled in, so a year is priced by exception rather than from scratch.
- Anything new since last year arrives blank and flagged, because it is the thing with no rate to carry forward — it is never given a neighbour's figure.
- A rate left blank is skipped, never written as zero.
- This is also the sanctioned place to change a rate mid-year on a published year: the old rate is closed the day before and a new one opens today, so a voucher already issued still resolves to the figure it was issued at.
What it will not let you do
- Save rates into a locked year — the refusal is loud and nothing at all is written. Locked rates are final history; a correction is a new rate in a new year.
- Reprice the same offering twice on one day on a published year — vouchers may already carry the first figure. Return the year to draft to correct a typo, or reprice again tomorrow.
- Hand-edit a published year's rate in place — the change is routed through the rate-change path instead, which keeps the old figure intact. That is the difference between correcting history and adding to it.
