VK-DEV-DEVOTEE - StatusReady
This page is ready. Everything below was written from the rules the software actually enforces, and from the tests that hold those rules in place.
What it is for
- Who the temple knows, keyed by phone number — the number is the devotee's identity, so one number belongs to one devotee.
- Separators and the trunk zero are not part of that identity: 99 88 77 66, 099887766 and +968 99887766 are all the same devotee and collapse into one entry.
- Most devotees arrive here from the counter, not from this screen: taking a number at the window creates the devotee if they are new and finds them if they are not.
- A devotee who declines to give a number is booked to one shared unnamed placeholder; their name still prints in "For" on the voucher.
What it will not let you do
- Save a devotee whose phone number is already on another devotee — open the devotee who already holds that number instead of creating a second entry for one person.
- Correct a devotee already on file, unless you are the iAdmin — anyone may take a new devotee's number at the window, but editing one that exists is the iAdmin's alone. Send the correction to them.
- Delete a devotee — not even the iAdmin. Archive them instead, so the vouchers already issued still resolve to a name.
- Rename the shared unnamed placeholder, re-key it, or delete it — naming it would name every devotee booked to it. Put the real person's name in "For" on the voucher.
- Decide by hand whether a devotee may be approached — that is answered by the consent entries. Record or withdraw a consent on the Consent Record screen.
- Identify a devotee at all if no region pack is installed — the refusal names the pack to install, because the product must never assume a country.
